Abstract

Based on Sousa Filho (2017), Foucault (1996), Orlandi (2002), Pêcheux (1988) and Volóchinov (2017), this article analyzes the concepts of social reality, discourse and silencing, articulating these reflections with the objectives of union communication, from the Giannotti’s perspective (2014). The focus is the analysis of the meanings produced by the Impatient Journal, elaborated by Sindsaúde/RN, under the context of the Social Organizations (OSs)’ private management of public health in Natal, in 2010. In that year, the “privatization” of public health began in the county because the Law 6.108 was approved and the the Pernambuco Institute of Social Assistance (IPAS) was hired as manager.
