Abstract

The family is approached from a systemic approach, considering its adaptability, cohesion and family communication, that is to say, your organization over it is structure. The article aims to demonstrate that a Viable System Model (MSV) can be a tool applicable to the family organization from the perspective of functionality. The Delphi method is used, quantitative-qualitative methodology with interpretative approach, based on the content analysis of the opinions of a panel of experts. This research technique has a consultation phase through a round of questions to experts, regarding a set of descriptors about the family functions of the FACES III questionnaire, applicable to the dimensions of the MSV, these dimensions are assigned to each item and in a second stage a consensus phase is carried out. The analysis will be carried out by means of a weighting scale and contrast with the literature. The results will be able to demonstrate if the MSV is applicable to this instrument and, therefore, the organization, cohesion and adaptability of the family can be evaluated using the MSV, allowing its application to different family models, independent of its structure. The family is considered a viable system by its organization, allowing its efficiency and subsistence in society, opening a door to the different family conformations.
