Resumo
A Amazônia paraense ribeirinha é palco de um dos mais graves acidentes que atingem principalmente mulheres e crianças: o escalpelamento. Elas têm o couro cabeludo arrancado (escalpe) pelo eixo do motor de pequenas embarcações por falta de proteção do equipamento. Apesar deste tipo de acidente existir desde a década de 1970, sua visibilidade na mídia ocorreu somente na década de 1990, com o trabalho da OSCIP Sarapó, culminando com campanhas de prevenção e leis que obrigam a instalação de equipamento de proteção nos motores. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo principal analisar os discursos referentes ao tema nas matérias publicadas no jornal “O Liberal, entre 2008 e 2015. O artigo buscou demonstrar a visibilidade midiática sobre o assunto, assim como a produção de sentidos dos discursos veiculados pela Marinha e demais órgãos envolvidos na questão. Como referencial teórico, adotou-se a perspectiva analítico-discursiva da teoria bakhtiniana.
Abstract
The amazon riverside region situated in the State of Pará is the scenery of one of the most serious accidents which affect mainly women and children: the escalping (“escalpelamento”). They have their scalp ripped by the unprotected motor axe of little boats. Despite such accidents have occurred since the seventies, they conquered space in the media only in the 1990’s due to the work of Sarapó, a Non-Governamental Organization which contributed for communication campaigns and implementation of laws that nowadays oblige the instalation of motor protection in such boats. The main goal of this research is to analyze the discourses about the accidents in daily news published in O Liberal newspaper, between 2008 and 2015. This article tried to present the mediatic visibility on the subject, as well the production of meanings from the discourses of Marine and other institutional agentes envolved with it. The theoretical reference was based on Bakhtin’s concepts.
